Jack Anzelmo Drives 6 Runners Home In Menasha Macs Victory Over Greenville Stars

Jack Anzelmo drove in six runs on two hits to lead Menasha Macs past Greenville Stars 9-5 on Monday at Commercial Club Park, Hortonville, WI. Anzelmo doubled in the first scoring three, singled in the seventh scoring two, and hit a sacrifice fly in the ninth scoring one.

 

A double by Anzelmo put Menasha Macs on the board in the top of the first.

 

Menasha Macs added to their early lead in the top of the third inning after Ayden Kanaman doubled to center field, and Connor Olson singled to left field, each scoring one run.

 

Joe Fischer homered to right field, scoring three runs in the bottom of the ninth for the Greenville Stars.

 

Owen Ripley started on the mound for Menasha Macs. The starting pitcher allowed eight hits and two runs over six innings, striking out eight and walking three. Nate Vela stepped on the mound first for Greenville Stars. The starting pitcher gave up five hits and five runs (four earned) over three innings, striking out none and walking three. Colin Nigl appeared in relief for Menasha Macs.

 

Menasha Macs piled up 12 hits in the game. Evan Olson went 4-for-5 at the plate to lead Menasha Macs in hits. Kanaman collected two hits for Menasha Macs in four at bats. Menasha Macs were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Quade Thompson had the most chances in the field with 14.

 

Greenville Stars tallied 11 hits in the game. Fischer provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Greenville Stars with three runs batted in. The left fielder went 3-for-5 on the day. Kameron Chronis and Matthew Hietpas each collected multiple hits for Greenville Stars. Benny Kiefer stole two bases. Greenville Stars turned one double play in the game.
