Jack Anzelmo Shows Power In Menasha Macs Loss To Appleton Legends

Jack Anzelmo hit two home runs and drove in five, but Menasha Macs lost to Appleton Legends 13-8 on Tuesday at Koslo Park, Menasha, WI. Anzelmo homered in the fifth and first innings.

 

Menasha Macs collected 13 hits and Appleton Legends had 13 in the high-scoring affair.

 

Menasha Macs got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Quade Thompson singled, scoring one run, and Anzelmo homered to left field, scoring two runs.

 

Menasha Macs added one run in the third after Jackson Anderson singled to center field.


Chris Vandenheuvel homered to left field, scoring three runs in the top of the fourth for the Appleton Legends.

 

Appleton Legends captured the lead, 7-4, in the top of the fifth when Nick Verbeten hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, Nick Terrell singled, scoring two runs, and Bubba Thompson doubled, scoring one run.

 

Menasha Macs took the lead, 8-7, in the bottom of the fifth thanks to home runs by Anzelmo, and Anderson.

 

Appleton Legends flipped the game on its head in the top of the seventh, scoring six runs on four hits to take the lead, 13-8. The biggest blow in the inning was an error that drove in two.

Ian Plaster earned the win for Appleton Legends. The hurler allowed five hits and two runs over four innings, striking out one and walking one. Connor Olson took the loss for Menasha Macs. The pitcher went three and two-thirds innings, allowing seven runs (one earned) on eight hits, striking out one and walking none. Brayden Deering started on the bump for Menasha Macs. The hurler allowed four hits and six runs over four and one-third innings, striking out three and walking two. Rylan Winkler stepped on the bump first for Appleton Legends. The starting pitcher allowed eight hits and six runs over four innings, striking out two and walking one.

Menasha Macs collected 13 hits in the game. Evan Olson, Anzelmo, and Anderson each collected three hits for Menasha Macs. Ryan Csida collected two hits for Menasha Macs in four at bats. Colin Reddy stole two bases.

 

Appleton Legends piled up 13 hits in the game. Terrell and Titan Milhaupt each collected three hits for Appleton Legends. Vandenheuvel and Thompson were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in three runs for Appleton Legends. Appleton Legends turned one double play in the game. Appleton Legends were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Milhaupt had the most chances in the field with seven.
