Menasha Macs Keep It Close Against Sheboygan A’s, Lose On Walkoff

Menasha Macs fell to Sheboygan A’s 3-2 on Thursday at Wildwood Park, Sheboygan, WI on the final play of the game. The game was tied at two in the bottom of the seventh when Chase Hanselman singled, scoring one run.

 

Both teams were strong on the hill. Sheboygan A’s pitchers struck out 10, while Menasha Macs sat down four.

 

Menasha Macs got on the board in the first inning after Evan Olson grounded out, scoring one run.

 

Sheboygan A’s captured the lead, 2-1, in the bottom of the first after Hanselman doubled to left field, and Jimmy Juergensen grounded into a double play, each scoring one run.

 

Quade Thompson singled to center field, which helped Menasha Macs tie the game at two in the top of the third.

 

Zach LeMieux stepped on the mound first for Menasha Macs. The pitcher surrendered three hits and two runs over four innings, striking out two and walking six. Noah Imrie stepped on the mound first for Sheboygan A’s. The pitcher allowed six hits and two runs over seven innings, striking out 10 and walking one.

 

Olson and Thompson were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in one run for Menasha Macs. Olson, Ryan Csida, Thompson, Connor Olson, Chris DeGroot, and Ayden Kanaman each collected one hit for Menasha Macs. Menasha Macs turned two double plays in the game.

 

Hanselman went 2-for-4 at the plate and led the team with two runs batted in. Sheboygan A’s had a strong eye at the plate, accumulating seven walks for the game. Connor Lasch and Alex Ames led the team with two walks each. Sheboygan A’s were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Cal Casper had the most chances in the field with 10.
