Menasha Macs Falls To Appleton Legends In Low-Scoring Affair

Both teams were strong on the mound on Monday, but Appleton Legends was just a little bit stronger at the plate in their 2-1 victory over Menasha Macs. Owen Ripley started the game for Menasha Macs and recorded 18 outs.

 

Ripley struck out 11 batters on the day. The hurler also gave up three hits and two runs over six innings while walking five.

 

Appleton Legends were the first to get on the board in the third when Reid Hietpas singled, scoring one run.

 

Ethan Winkler earned the win for Appleton Legends. The starting pitcher surrendered one hit and one run (zero earned) over six and two-thirds innings, striking out nine and walking four.

 

Jack Anzelmo, Colin Nigl, and Ayden Kanaman each collected one hit for Menasha Macs. Nigl led Menasha Macs with one run batted in. The third baseman went 1-for-3 on the day. Menasha Macs had a strong eye at the plate, collecting seven walks for the game. Ben Johnston and Jackson Anderson led the team with two bases on balls each. Menasha Macs turned one double play in the game.

 

Hietpas went 3-for-5 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in. Appleton Legends turned two double plays in the game.
