Menasha Macs Rally Defeats Greenville Stars

Menasha Macs rallied to top Greenville Stars 7-5 on Friday at Koslo Park, Menasha, WI. Menasha Macs trailed by as many as four runs during the game.

 

Greenville Stars got on the board in the top of the second inning after Bo Anderson homered to center field, scoring three runs, and Jake Lucas singled, scoring one run.

 

In the bottom of the seventh inning, Menasha Macs went back into the lead after Evan Olson tripled down the left field line, and Jack Anzelmo hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring one run.

 

Connor Olson pitched five innings in relief for Menasha Macs. The reliever surrendered eight hits and one run while, striking out four and walking none. Zach LeMieux stepped on the bump first for Menasha Macs. The starting pitcher surrendered seven hits and four runs over four innings, striking out seven and walking three. Griffin Jens stepped on the mound first for Greenville Stars. The starter gave up seven hits and four runs over five innings, striking out two and walking one.

 

Menasha Macs amassed 11 hits in the game. Tyler Fitzgerald, Menasha Macs's number eight hitter, led the team with three hits in four at-bats. Olson and Jacob Coopman each drove in two runs for Menasha Macs. Ayden Kanaman collected two hits for Menasha Macs in five at bats.

 

Greenville Stars collected 15 hits in the game. Anderson, the number nine hitter for Greenville Stars, led the way with three runs batted in. Anderson went 2-for-5 on the day.
