Menasha Macs Roll Past Greenville Stars

Menasha Macs easily dispatched Greenville Stars on Monday at Koslo Park, Menasha, WI, 8-2.

 

Greenville Stars opened the scoring in the first after Kameron Chronis drew a walk, scoring one run.

 

Greenville Stars added one run in the third. Chronis walked, making the score 2-0.

 

Menasha Macs tied the game in the bottom of the fourth thanks to a walk by Connor Olson, and a single by Jackson Anderson.

 

In the bottom of the fifth, Menasha Macs broke up the tie when Ayden Kanaman singled, scoring one run. Then a single by Olson followed to extend the lead to 5-2.

 

Owen Ripley earned the win for Menasha Macs. The starting pitcher allowed four hits and two runs over six and one-third innings, striking out eight and walking six. Griffin Jens took the loss for Greenville Stars. The pitcher went four innings, allowing six runs (three earned) on nine hits, striking out seven and walking one. Nate Vela started the game for Greenville Stars. The starting pitcher gave up three hits and two runs over four innings, striking out five and walking two. Jacob Riddick tossed two and two-thirds innings of no-run ball for Menasha Macs in relief. The pitcher gave up zero hits, striking out one and walking none.

 

Menasha Macs piled up 12 hits in the game. Jack Anzelmo, Ryan Csida, Kanaman, and Anderson each collected two hits for Menasha Macs. Olson, Colin Nigl, and Kanaman each drove in two runs for Menasha Macs. Olson stole two bases. Menasha Macs turned two double plays in the game.

 

Chronis led Greenville Stars with two runs batted in. Garrett Hietpas went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Greenville Stars in hits. Greenville Stars had a strong eye at the plate, piling up six walks for the game. Chronis and Turner Kuhnke led the team with two walks each.
