Game 2 Macs Claim Lead In Fifth Inning To Defeat Appleton Legends

Menasha defeated Appleton Legends 6-5 on Tuesday after taking the lead late in the game.

Menasha scored three runs in the second inning. Macs bats in the inning were led by a single by Drew Johnson, a fielder's choice by John Nett, and a double by Rex Bayer.

Nick Guzzo took the win for Menasha. He allowed one hit and zero runs over one inning, striking out one and walking one. Will Monroe threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. Monroe recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Menasha​.

Anthony Sottile started the game for NEWBL Macs. He went three innings, allowing five runs on five hits and striking out two AJ Sweetalla started the game for Appleton Legends. He lasted two innings, allowing four hits and three runs while striking out one.

The Macs collected nine hits on the day. Nick LenzendorfCaden Uhlenbrauck, and Bayer all had multiple hits for Menasha.

Game 1 Macs Clinche Lead In Eighth Inning For Victory Over Appleton Legends

Menasha stole the lead late in the game in a 14-11 victory over Appleton Legends on Tuesday. The game was tied at nine with Menasha batting in the top of the eighth when John Nett singled on a 3-1 count, scoring one run.

Sam Hawley led NEWBL Macs to victory by driving in four runs. He went 3-for-4 at the plate. Hawley drove in runs on a double in the third and a single in the sixth.​

Dylan Roberts got the start for the Macs. He went three and a third innings, allowing six runs on eight hits and striking out seven.  Drew Johnson had a dinger in the third inning.

Menasha tallied ten hits in the game. Hawley and Johnson all had multiple hits for the Macs Hawley led Menashawith three hits in four at bats.

Macs Grabs Lead In Eighth Inning To Defeat Sheboygan A's

The Macs snatched the lead late in the game in a 10-8 victory over Sheboygan A's on Monday. The game was tied at eight with the Macs batting in the bottom of the eighth when an error scored one run for Menasha.

The Macs collected ten hits and Sheboygan A's (WSL) had seven.

Macs put up three runs in the sixth inning. Macs batters contributing to the big inning included John Nett and Eli Davila, all driving in runs in the frame.

Eric Zuberbier pitched Menasha to victory. He went two innings, allowing zero runs on zero hits, striking out three and walking zero. Donovan Schultz threw two and a third innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Austin Reiman took the loss for Sheboygan A's (WSL). He lasted two-thirds of an inning, allowing zero hits and zero runs while walking one.

 

Michael McBriar started the game for NEWBL Macs. He went four and two-thirds innings, allowing six runs on six hits and striking out five

Macs Down Waupaca Lakemen, 6-2

The Menasha Macs defeated the Waupaca Lakemen 6-2 on Wednesday.

The Macs fired up the offense in the second inning, when Caleb dohms grounded out, scoring two runs.

Sam Marhefke started the game for Macs. He allowed one hit and zero runs over three innings, striking out four

Rex Bayer was the winning pitcher for Menasha. He went two innings, allowing two runs on two hits, striking out one and walking one. Steve Marhefke and Chris Seveska entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

David Yeska took the loss for Waupaca. He allowed five hits and four runs over three innings, striking out two and walking one.

Ryan Hinske went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Macs in hits.

Four Macs Pitchers Combine To Defeat Kewaskum A's In Shutout Game

The Menasha Macs defeated Kewaskum A's 3-0 on Tuesday as four pitchers combined to throw a shutout. 

The pitching was strong on both sides. Macs pitchers struck out nine, while Kewaskum A's pitchers sat down 14.  

 

Brian Brown started the game for the Macs. He surrendered zero runs on three hits over two innings, walking zero.  Donovan Schultz was credited with the victory for Macs. He lasted three innings, allowing zero hits and zero runs while striking out four and walking one.  Michael McBriar and Trey Tennessen entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.  Tennessen induced a fly out from Blake Hall to finish off the game.

 

Beau Schumacher went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the Macs in hits. Menasha was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Eli Davila had the most chances in the field with nine.

Early Lead For Appleton Legends Seals Fate For the Macs

The Macs fell behind early and couldn't come back in an 8-3 loss to Appleton Legends on Monday.

The Macs lost despite out-hitting Appleton Legends five to four.

Appleton Legends opened up scoring in the second inning with an error and two walks. The Macs notched three runs in the seventh inning. Kyle Schultz and Drew Johnson all drove in runs in the frame.  Nick Guzzo took the loss for Menasha. He went one inning, allowing three runs on one hit.

Tough Opening Night

The Menasha Macs lost 15-4 and 3-2 against the Appleton Legends Thursday in the season opener.  The Macs fell behind early in the first game giving up 6 runs in the first inn.  The highlight of the game was a home run by Drew Johnson in the 4th. 

The second game was much closer on a strong night by Michael  Mcbriar on the mound and a strong hitting performance by Ryan Hinske.

BASEBALL IS BACK!!!

The Mac's will be back in action starting Tuesday June 23rd with a game at Appleton. The home opener will be June 25th at Koslo Park at 7:15 vs Appleton.  Things will be a little different this year.  There will be no concession stand.  Please bring your own water/soda/snacks.  We are asking all fans to wear a mask (but won't be enforced) and to respect social distancing guidelines.  If you are not feeling well, or have possibly come into contact with someone who has covid-19, please stay home.
