Macs take 2nd place in Class A State Tournament


Aug 6 - The Macs had a strong start to Sunday with a win over West Allis 4-2, but fell in the final 7-2 to the Kenosha Kings.

Congratulations on a great season with an overall 19-10 record!

Macs Advance to Day 2 of Playoffs

8-5 Despite a tough 1st round loss to West Allis, the Macs rallied and defeated Kewaskum A’s 4-3 on Saturday's second game to advance to the second round of the playoffs. 

 

In game two, Menasha built a 4-run lead in the fourth inning and then held off Kewaskum A’s's charge. The Macs opened the scoring in the second after Ryan Csida drew a walk, scoring one run. Menasha added one run in the third. Garrett Hietpas singled, making the score 3-0.

 

Griffen Kline earned the win for Menasha. The starting pitcher allowed three hits and three runs over five and two-thirds innings, striking out 13 and walking four. Andy Neu took the loss for Kewaskum A’s. The southpaw went seven innings, surrendering four runs (three earned) on 10 hits, striking out 12 and walking three. Rex Bayer collected the save.

 

The Macs accumulated 10 hits in the game. Chase Hanselman and Brayden Pleau each collected multiple hits for Menasha.   The Macs stole five bases in the game.

 

The Macs play on Sunday at 11am in Marinette at Charles D. Pederson Park.
